The 2024 General Election in Pictures
Only 60% of electors bothered to vote: the second lowest turnout since 1945.
With just 34% of the vote share, Labour won 63% of the seats but 100% of the power.
With a combined 20% vote share, the Greens and Reform UK won 1% of the seats. That’s a denial of voter choice. Under First-Past-The-Post, some votes are more equal than others.
Just 15% of MPs were elected with a majority (50%+) of votes in their constituency.
58% of votes were cast for losing candidates (Electoral Reform Society). And many other votes went to piling up large but meaningless majorities in individual constituencies.
This is discriminatory and manifestly unfair. Read about out current First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) system and why change is urgently needed now.
