Time to drop the PR jargon
Writer and broadcaster – as well as former LD councillor and candidate – Chris Bowers pens an insightful article in the Liberator magazine.
He proposes that the argument for electoral reform should be made to the public ignoring all the jargon (eg 'proportional representation', 'single transferable vote', even the term 'electoral reform' itself!). Instead, the case should be made by linking the issue to the equalities agenda: voters in safe constituencies are discriminated against under FPTP.
